James A. Bickford P.E.

James Bickford is a Registered Professional Engineer with corporate engineering experience since 1979 when he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.  Besides his natural concentration with electrical engineering assignments, his work experience also includes manufacturing, industrial, automotive and military.  Mr. Bickford has been providing technical evaluations, feasibility opinions, specification development, CADD design and project documentation since 1995.  He is particularly skillful in understanding what a small-entity inventor is trying to communicate.

Jeffrey L. Smith

Jeff Smith is Montgomery Patent & Design’s Senior Engineer.  Mr. Smith earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1971.  Post-baccalaureate studies involved programming, computer-aided design and drafting, statistical analysis and technical documentation.  Mr. Smith has had experience designing products and bringing them through production and onto the market.  His background allows him to effectively interact with the patent practitioners, staff and clients to develop engineering specifications.

Carl E. Soderholm

Carl Soderholm is in charge of virtual prototyping and technical drafting for Montgomery Patent & Design.  Carl began his career in 2D/3D graphics, electronic brochures, animation and virtual design in 2001 after receiving his degree in Specialized Technology.  Mr. Soderholm is uniquely adept at bringing both the artistic and the technical aspects of the visual arts together.  In his young career, he has drafted or supervised hundreds of patent line drafts, and nearly an equal number of virtual prototypes for small-entity inventors.
