Robert C. Montgomery

Mr. Montgomery is the Founder and President of Montgomery Patent & Design and is registered as a Patent Agent within the United States Patent & Trademark Office. He holds both Chemistry and Chemical Engineering degrees.  Mr. Montgomery has prepared, filed and prosecuted well over 200 patents in a variety of genres, as well as having performed thousands of patent searches.  Before founding MP&D, Mr. Montgomery’s experience included chemical research projects, design and implementation of environmental regulatory instrumentation, and operational management of a frontline production facility with large international companies.


Joseph T. Yaksich

Joseph T. Yaksich, Esq. is a registered Patent Attorney for Montgomery Patent & Design.   Mr. Yaksich received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University and his Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley School of Law earning Cum Laude honors.   His carreer began in industry as a process engineer before earning his law degree.  As an attorney, Mr. Yaksich has experience as a criminal defense attorney as well as with Business and Employment Law.  Attorney Yaksich also serves as a Military Intelligence Captain in the United States Army Reserve.


Robert E. Montgomery

Mr. Montgomery is the Administrative Director of Montgomery Patent & Design and serves as the Copyright Agent.  Mr. Montgomery’s early career was in academe, having taught college in the computer science and business departments while conducting extensive corporate training. He has served as the Operational Director and National Sales Manager of a software company, serving the gas and oil industry.  The past several years, Mr. Montgomery has specialized in providing guidance and counseling to small-entity inventors and serving as President of The InventSAI Network.


Michael J. Newell

Michael J. Newell, a former Patent Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, serves as a registered Patent Agent at Montgomery Patent & Design. Mr. Newell earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and Zoology from Duke University and a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University. Mr. Newell worked for 10 years in medical and biotechnology research before accepting a position as a Patent Examiner at the USPTO in Washington, DC specializing in gene therapy. Following his Patent Office tenure, he has worked as a Patent Agent performing high level patent searches as well as preparing and prosecuting patent applications. Mr. Newell has been a registered Patent Agent since 1998.


Aaron J. McKendry, Esq.

Aaron J. McKendry is an Associate Attorney for Montgomery Patent & Design. Mr. McKendry earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in 2006, and in 2010 obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he was elected president of his class. He has served engineering internships for Delphi, General Electric and Bank of America. While at the University of Pittsburgh, Mr. McKendry volunteered with the University’s Community and Economic Development Clinic assisting local artists and small business owners with copyright and trademark related issues. Attorney McKendry expects to sit for the Patent Bar in the near future.
